Breaking ground in spring 2006,
the Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA) will provide education and
service to indigenous peoples of all ages through the development of the
Achein Center for Lifelong Education, Research and Cultural Exchange
(CLE). The name, Achein (pronounced a-chin), was a gift to IAIA
from the Cochiti people and is a descriptive and literal term in the Keres
Pueblo language that means, “a place where knowledge is shared.”
