Jeanne Givens

Jeanne Givens is an educator, writer and former chair of the IAIA Board of Trustees. She was the first Native American woman elected to the Idaho House of Representatives in 1984 and 1986 and currently serves on the Native American Stewardship Council of the Autry National Center, Los Angeles, California. Givens was appointed by Idaho Governor John Evans to serve on the Idaho Humanities Council from 1980 to 1984. Since 1988, she has been a member of the Americans for Indian Opportunity Board, a national organization promoting the economic, educational and social advancement of Native Americans. She has also served as a trustee of North Idaho College, in Coeur d'Alene, ID.
