I am pleased to welcome you to the Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA). I encourage you to explore these pages to discover what makes the Institute one of the country’s most unique resources.
IAIA is a federally chartered institution that provides higher education in Native American arts and cultures through fully accredited associate’s and bachelor’s degree programs. In 2013, IAIA opens its first master’s in fine arts program in Creative Writing.
In addition to a strong academic program, IAIA also includes the Museum of Contemporary Native Arts in downtown Santa Fe (home to the more than 7,500-piece National Collection of Contemporary Native Art) and the Center for Lifelong Education, dedicated to preserving and strengthening Indigenous cultures while responding to the needs of the Pueblos and tribes throughout the four-corners region.
As the only organization in the country with a mission to empower creativity and leadership in Native arts and cultures through higher education, lifelong learning and outreach, the power of our mission is undeniable. Located on 140 scenic acres on the southern edge of Santa Fe, the IAIA campus offers wide vistas and excellent facilities.
