“Being a teacher means committing to the ongoing process of being a student, continually learning, growing, and engaging in community. This commitment is a gift for which I am grateful. I believe in an ecology of learning, where learning is interdependent and connected to experience, place, culture, art, and all parts of ourselves. As a teacher of writing, I am a student of the transformational power of language.”
