IAIA GRADUATION PROMISES NATIVE COLOR

Representing American Indian and Alaska Native tribes from the Arctic Circle to the pine forests of Maine, the 2005 graduating class at IAIA is as diverse as it is accomplished.

Thirty-six students from nations such as the Prairie Band Potawatomi, Kahnawake Mohawk, Pascua Yaqui, Northern Ute, Paiute, Choctaw and Kiowa will participate in the 42nd annual IAIA commencement this Friday, May 13 at 11:00 a.m. on the IAIA campus.

As has been the case in years past, many of the 2005 graduating students will choose to attend the commencement ceremonies attired from head to toe in their Tribes’ traditional clothing. Eye-dazzling examples of the finest creative expressions in buckskin, beadwork, moccasins, pouches, headdresses and quillwork will ensure that IAIA’s graduation ceremony is a memorable event.
