25-YEAR RETROSPECTIVE FEATURES THE BEST OF DENISE AND SAMUEL WALLACE

Drawing from the culture and perspectives of her Native Alaskan heritage, jeweler Denise Wallace has risen to the top tier of acclaim in contemporary Indigenous art circles.

Working both individually and in collaboration with Samuel Wallace, her husband, Denise Wallace has created stunning works of art featuring precious metals, polished jewel stones, scrimshawed fossilized ivory, bone and other materials inspired by Alaska’s mineral and natural wealth.

This traveling exhibition, which received its debut at the Anchorage Museum of History & Art, has traveled to the International Folk Museum in San Diego, the Heard Museum in Phoenix, and the National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C.

In conjunction with this exhibition the IAIA Museum Store is featuring a special exhibit of Denise & Samuel Wallace works, and a new book about their creations.
