NEW WORK FROM RECENT ALUMNI

Two events share the spotlight on the evening of Friday, Sept. 8 at the IAIA Museum Store in downtown Santa Fe.

First, there’s the 4 to 7 pm opening reception for the newest exhibition in the Lloyd Kiva New Gallery, a recent addition to the renovated retail location inside the IAIA Museum. “New Work from Recent Alumni” features a wide array of painting, sculpture, jewelry and fiber art from more than a dozen of the accomplished graduates of IAIA’s nationally recognized fine arts programs.

Among the artists selected for the exhibition are Donovan Henan, Jeane LaRance, David Dalasohya, Kevin Brown, Julie Chrisjohn, Hoka Skenadore, Peterson Yazzie, Tristan Ahtone, Sallie Weesaw-Sloan and Wanesia Misquadace.

The second event taking place on Friday evening is the drawing of the prize winning ticket for IAIA’s Benefit Raffle for American Indian Scholarships. The raffle’s Grand Prize is a week’s stay at a luxurious, 4-bedroom residence in San Miguel de Allende, one of Mexico’s most renowned art towns. Raffle tickets, which are limited to 100 tickets sold, are priced at $100 each and will be available at the Museum Store up to the 6pm Friday drawing of the winning raffle ticket.
