Smoke & Mirrors

exhibition of art in several media
March 16 to April 23. Opening reception Fri. Mar. 16, 4 to 7pm
Free< /b>.

Though he’s best known to Santa Fe art collectors as one of the nation’s preeminent beadwork talents, Choctaw artist Marcus Amerman is a creative force who continually expands his precise skills and creative vision. In a new exhibition opening at the IAIA Museum Store’s Lloyd Kiva New Gallery on March 16, Amerman will roll out some of his most recent artistic explorations.

“Smoke & Mirrors”, which continues at the Lloyd Kiva New Gallery through April 23, will certainly serve as a setting for fine examples of Amerman’s forward-looking, precise and fashionable “wearable art” spotlighting the artist’s beadworking talent.

But the focus of “Smoke and Mirrors” is on Amerman’s wide range of artistic interests, which is why this compact exhibition will include more than two dozen works employing media ranging from painting to glass art, fashion items, mixed media collage and jewelry.
