Lecture Series on Global Indigenous Exchange
What: The Answers Lie Within: A Lecture Series

The Answers Lie Within: A Lecture Series is a six-part program that tells the story of a profound two-week journey made by a 45-person American Indian delegation through southern Africa to build social and economic change with indigenous peoples. Presentations will be made by American Indian artists, traditional leaders and educators who shared this journey. All lectures are free and open to the public.
From June 25 through July 10, 2007, an IAIA delegation traveled to South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland, Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Botswana to engage in dialogue with tribal Africans on economic empowerment through arts and culture. The exchange focused on fostering cultural pride as a way to alleviate poverty, promote tribal self-determination and begin a global indigenous-led movement for social change. This program was funded by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation and sponsored by IAIA’s Achein Center for Lifelong Education, Research & Cultural Exchange.
