The Primitive Edge Gallery at the College of Contemporary Native Arts in Santa Fe typically showcases student work, so what happens when the students leave for summer vacation? Gallery managers get creative and think up exhibits like Enigmatic Possessions: A Clandestine Anthology. Opening on June 18, 2009 the show will feature work made by and from the collections of Institute of American Indian arts employees. The exhibit will continue through August 24, 2009. Regular gallery hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m Monday through Friday and the gallery is located at 83 Avan Nu Po Road on the College of Contemporary Native Arts campus.

Gallery director Hayes Locklear (Lumbee) says, “Enigmatic Possessions: A Clandestine Anthology is an exhibit that will focus on both artists and collectors. We will show original work, purchased art or perhaps work traded or received as gifts. Whatever the case, this exhibit will reveal the treasures that are hidden away in people’s offices, homes and studios to the rest of the world.”
