The Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA) will hold commencement 11 a.m., Friday, May 10. Forty-eight non-Native American and Native American students from tribes across the nation and Canada will receive degrees.
IAIA’s class of 2013 has chosen poet, author, musician and IAIA alumna Joy Harjo to give the graduation address. Artist and IAIA alumnus Tony Abeyta (Navajo) will receive an honorary doctorate. The event is open to the public.
The event will also be streamed live over the web starting at 10:30 a.m. May 10.
