The Primitive Edge Student Gallery will host the 4th Annual American Indian Higher Education Consortium (AIHEC) Art Show April 2 – 18, 2014.

AIHEC is the collective spirit and unifying voice of our nation’s 37 tribal colleges and Universities—a unique community of tribally and federally chartered institutions working to strengthen tribal nations and make a lasting difference in the lives of American Indians and Alaska Natives. Since 1972, AIHEC serves its network of member institutions through public policy, advocacy, research, and program initiatives to ensure strong tribal sovereignty through excellence in American Indian higher education.

The exhibition celebrates some of the best artistry of the IAIA community as it is comprised of items created and submitted to the annual AIHEC student art competition. The exhibition recognizes and shares the tremendous talent of IAIA students, and features the best prize-winning work among Indigenous colleges and universities across the country. Some works of art will be for sale.

The opening reception is at 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 2.

The Primitive Edge Gallery is free and open to the public from from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday:
