Apaches and Angels

August 2, 2010 through January 2, 2011

Museum of Contemporary Native Arts, 108 Cathedral Place, Santa Fe, NM 87501 (Click here for a map)

Apaches and Angels is a site-specific work envisioned by artist Douglas Miles. Measuring 35' in length, it incorporates hand drawn, hand cut stencil works from Miles’ Apache Skateboards Team. The installation also includes photographer Brendan Moore's documentation of the Apache Skateboard Team.

In keeping with his tradition of working with new artists, Miles mentored the emerging talent of Lynette Haozous, Rebekah Miles and Razelle Benally, the artists who installed the work over four days.

Join us for the free, public opening reception on August 19 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
