STUDENT ACTIVITIES


The Student Activities office sponsors activities and events that will complements the Institutes’ academic program through development, exposure, and participation in social, cultural, artistic, and recreational group leadership. The Student Activities office invites students to stop in and get in involved in campus activities.

Off-campus field trips are taken to national parks, local native communities, Bandelier National Monument, pow wows, such as, the annual Denver March Pow-wow, Cherokee National Holidays, and many others. The activities program has hosted on campus, events like the Hopi night dances and Apache puberty rites ceremonies. Outdoor trips are offered, such as, hiking, camping and fun in the mountain snow. Cultural workshops in beadwork, pottery, basketry and Native lacrosse are also sponsored.



ASG
Associated Student Government

The Associated Student Government (ASG) is chartered to give students representation in the Institute’s community, and offers a variety of services and opportunities for leadership, expression and involvement. It represents the student body in decision making and is an important link between the student, faculty/staff and administration. The ASG President is an ex-officio member of the IAIA Board of Trustees.

Student Clubs and Organizations

Various clubs and organizations are available for students to join which provide an avenue for shared interests, socializing and developing leadership skills. Current clubs and organizations are the: Pow Wow, Museum, Film, Phi Theta Kappa, Theater, and Nu Delta Nu, which is a men’s faternity. If a club is not available for a specific interest, students are encouraged to create a new one by working with the Activities office.
