NEA - Renna Scholarship Recipients Announced

The Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA) is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2009-2010 National Endowment for the Arts- Renna Scholarships. They are:

• Seniors Joanne Morales (Taino) and Rachel Kuc, both majoring in Studio Arts
• Juniors Carlo Martinez, majoring in New Media Arts and Marty Two Bulls (Oglala Lakota Sioux), majoring in Studio Arts
• Sophomores Conjotee Chuleewah (Cherokee Nation), majoring in New Media Arts and Cannupa Hanska Luger (Three Affiliated Tribes), majoring in Studio Arts

These awards have been made possible by the National Endowment for the arts as part of the NEA – John Renna Arts Scholarship initiative. As part of that program, IAIA received $100,000 in 2008 to use for scholarships each year until 2011. Morales, Kuc, Martinez, Two Bulls, Chuleewah and Hanska Luger were selected in this round because of their commitment to excellence, creative expression, hard work and dedication as exemplified by their grades, attendance record and high level of participation in student activities.
