In today's multi-media, non-stop world of information and entertainment, our lives are constantly filled with images that are intended to influence decision making.
Designers are the source of this visual information, creating and packaging images in ways that are both compelling and symbolic of shared human experiences. The better the design of the information, the more effectively the end products will sway desires, ideas, beliefs and identities.
IAIA's degree programs in New Media Arts examine these concepts, taking them several steps forward by focusing on representations of American Indian, Alaska Native and other Indigenous cultures. Ripping apart current and historic representations of Indigenous people, communities and practices, informs IAIA students on how those images resonate in conscious and subliminal ways.
We offer three areas of concentration in our program:
• Interactive Design
• 3D Animation
• Moving Images
As a New Media Arts student, you will master the skills required in creating sophisticated and effective design projects, learning in media classrooms offering state-of-the-art equipment and the latest industry-standard software.
